My Super Sweet Sixteen has a crazy Wikipedia page. The theme song was sung by Hilary Duff. They had a spinoff where former teens from the show were sent to remote countries to live under poverty. MTV then made 3 horror spin-off movies. Meg Cabot’s list of tropes for reality TV seems ripped from this article. A BBC satirist said it “might be an Al-Qaeda recruitment film.”
