You Know You Love Me: Wedding Bells and Interview Hell

On this week’s episode Clare and I read You Know You Love Me, the second book in Cecily Von Ziegesar’s Gossip Girl series. You can listen to this episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you like to listen. As a reminder, some of these links, including our Bookshop.org link, are affiliates.

This week I read Save the Cat by Blake Snyder, and Clare is still working her way through Liveship (which I think is Livejournal for your ships).

Elliott is pretty hot!

Let us know your Meyers Briggs type!

Normal People Scare Me was originally a documentary by Joey Travolta (yes, that Travolta) about people with ASD. Since then, Tumblr has co-opted it into merch, presumably based on a character from American Horror Story.

Clare isn’t wrong to see a connection between enneagram and Christianity. And the Chinese zodiac is pretty interesting, despite our western culture’s need to force it into our own terms. Plus, Clare confirmed Blair is a Scorpio—they have the same birthday!

Happy Endings is an amazing show that was cut too soon and ruined by Penny.

The Common App started in 1975, so definitely in full swing by the time the Gossip Girl characters went to visit schools.

Primo example of the “slinky sexy dresses on hot young bridesmaids” vibe Eleanor was going for.
This is not what I was picturing for Nate’s oil portrait butt this isn’t that far off. Maybe with a rocking horse and shorter pants. Shorter, hair, too.

Cancer.org confirms that “all natural” cigarettes are not any safer than traditional cigarettes. Aaron is sounding more and more like a bad after school special character every day. And there are actually tons of “accidentally vegan” snacks!

Anthony J. Blinken is the current Secretary of State, and has been since January (which was after we recorded this episode).

Here’s the opening scene to Breakfast at Tiffany’s, if you, like me, haven’t seen it.

Quenelle, not to be confused with canelé.

Speaking of food, Jessica Simpson actually had a whole line of edible body products, and while Urban Decay does still sell sparkling body powders, they are no longer edible.
