On this week’s episode Clare and I read Dial L for Loser, the sixth installment in Lisi Harrisons The Clique series. You can listen to this episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you like to listen. As a reminder, some of these links, including our Bookshop.org link, are affiliates.
I finished last week’s book Final Girls by Riley Sager, and Clare finished Mrs. by Cailtin Macy (0:36)

Here’s a prime example of Love Island for those of you not in the know (11:35)

Apparently Red Vines do not and have never contained any licorice, which makes their comparison to Twizzlers almost entirely moot (19:43)
I wish I could kill Conner Foley for being the predecessor of this quote (20:52):
“It’s a metaphor, see: You put the killing thing right between your teeth, but you don’t give it the power to do its killing.”
John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
Turns out She’s All That is an adaptation of Pygmalion and stars Rachael Leigh Cook, Freddie Prinze Jr., Paul Walker, and Matthew Lillard. Way better cast than Dial L for Loser, but who am I to judge? (20:19)

Apple sold iSight from 2003-2008 and it retailed for $149 (29:09). Do you think it looks kind of evil?
For the life of me I cannot find any clips or references to Disney actors interviewing other Disney actors in commercial breaks (29:41). Mandela effect?
Upon rereading it seems Derrington bucked his new coach’s rules and went stag, opting to go shirtless (while wearing green shorts, of course) with “I’m with Massie” written across his chest in purple sharpie in protest (1:01:10). He was promptly removed from the premises.

As of this recording James Perse is still running their Cyber Week (hate that) sale, if you want to get super fancy basics like the Pretty Committee (1:06:50)
