On this week’s episode Clare and I read Claire, the final book in Lisi Harrison’s The Clique Summer Collection series. You can listen to this episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you like to listen. As a reminder, some of these links, including our Bookshop.org link, are affiliates.
I’ve been streaming the Harley Quinn HBO Max series and you should too, if you’re into DC Villains and swearing (1:17). Clare has been rewatching Sex and the City ahead of the reboot (2:00).
The glitter gods have heard our cries and did invent biodegradable glitter (9:16).

It turns out Dressbarn shuttered all 650 of its brick and mortar stores in 2019, so no Florida tween will ever have to face it again (22:05).
I’m a Stew Leonards stan until the day I die, and they have the following philosophy etched into a boulder in front of their stores:
- The customer is always right.
- If the customer is ever wrong, re-read rule #1. (31:00)

In my opinion Cookie Crisp was never as good as I wanted it to be (32:14). The best sugary cereal is still Lucky Charms.
When looking into Dr. Pepper rip-offs I found out that Mr. Pibb was actually created by Coca-Cola to rip off Dr. Pepper and was originally called “Peppo,” before Dr. Pepper sued them for trademark infringement (37:32).
There’s actually a closer Saks to Kissimmee in Sarasota (which I have been to but not many times since I didn’t have a car when I lived there and I didn’t have many reasons to go to the mall) but I guess it wouldn’t have the same name recognition as Miami (48:33)

Here’s a video of the Pooh’s Hunny Hunt ride Clare referenced (1:23:35). It took me a while for my brain to even wrap around the concept of a “trackless ride,” but I’m impressed by the number of articles, blogs and pages dedicated to Disney rides!
That’s the end of our Summer Series, so join us next as we read My Little Phony for our regular series.
